Bohemia Interactive Simulations (BISim) is demonstrating at ITEC 2015 its new image generation software VBS IG for flight simulation.

BISim has integrated VBS3 with JSBSim open source flight dynamics models for the F-16 and attack helicopters. JSBSim provides the aerodynamics, flight control system, propulsion and other elements to approximate realistic flight dynamics within the simulator.

ig-demo-itec-pic_21april_2015-web (2)VBS3 serves as the CIGI host for VBS IG. VBS3 was programmed to provide an F-16 HUD using CIGI symbology to create a 2D overlay on VBS IG. BISim also integrated capabilities into VBS3 for multiple inputs including joysticks, wheels, yokes and pedals used with flight simulators and image generators. The 6-channel flight simulation demo at ITEC will be displayed on a 4-meter dome, provided by Immersive Display Solutions. D-BOX Technologies is providing a motion platform with its Motion Code and has worked with BISim to integrate it into VBS3. In addition, VBS IG now supports a plugin for blend and warp using Scalable SDK.

Add VBS3 and VBS IG to display hardware and pre-integrated motion solutions from D-BOX and you’ve equipped your trainees with a fully capable and immersive flight simulation system

vbs-ig-in-dome-for-itec-2-web_0Traditional solutions for IG and motion systems have proven limited in terms of deployment, cost structure and the possibilities for innovation. VBS IG and motion solutions like D-BOX break from tradition. At Bohemia Interactive Simulations, we have leveraged our game-based technology to create a highly capable and cost-effective IG solution. Fully compatible with any host that supports the CIGI protocol, the VBS IG core engine has been optimized to deliver high frame rates with long-view distances and large numbers of moving entities on massive terrains. Bohemia Interactive Simulations has quickly made advances in VBS3 and VBS IG for flight simulation. In 2014, VBS3 was optimized to provide object aggregation and object fading technology, enable longer view distances, and handle huge terrains. In early 2015, the U.S. Army approved a version of VBS IG for training on its largest ground simulation program further demonstrating the rapidly maturing capabilities of BISim’s image generation software.

See VBS IG at ITEC 2015 in Prague at BISim’s booth 4A-300 to learn how it can help you develop high fidelity, training solutions for land, sea and air.
